Face-to-Face Joy Within

2 John 1:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

12Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
2 John 1:12

Biblical Context

John says he has much to write, but would rather speak face-to-face so their joy would be full.

Neville's Inner Vision

To Neville, this verse is not about letters but about the inner word becoming reality. The external ink is symbolic of the habitual mind clinging to words, while the true communion arises when the I AM within you and within me gathers in the same now. 'Having many things to write' signals a mind full of concepts; 'I would not write with paper and ink' signals the turning from thought outward to awareness inward. The face-to-face is the inner alignment—a meeting in consciousness where you perceive the other as already present in your own state of being. Our 'joy may be full' is the natural consequence of the recognition that God, the I AM, dwells in both, unseparated. When you assume and feel that you are already in that company, you do not chase after external evidence; you revise your inner sense to the unity of all life in God. Practice this by entering the room of your own awareness and acknowledging the others as fellow expressions of the same I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume you are in the room with your fellowship. Speak to them, in your imagination, as if face-to-face, and feel the joy filling your own I AM.
