The Inner Cheerful Giver
2 Corinthians 9:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul urges the gift be prepared in advance as a free, joyful act, not from covetousness or compulsion. The amount follows the heart’s intention, and God loves the cheerful giver.
Neville's Inner Vision
I hear Paul inviting you to move the act of giving from a mere outward duty into the living state you already inhabit. When you sow in imagination you are not paying a bill you owe; you are reconditioning your consciousness to the feeling of abundance. The bounty is prepared in advance because you have assumed the reality of supply and the cheerful joy that accompanies it. The outer act of giving mirrors the inner posture: sowing sparingly or bountifully follows the momentum of your inner conviction. Therefore you choose a heart state of freedom and gratitude, and the universe reorders itself to reflect that inner picture. Do not yield to covetousness or pressure; let your gift spring from the recreated sense of self—the I AM within you that knows all life as your life. As you imagine the means already in your possession to share, you align with the law of return and awaken the cheerful giver who rejoices in giving as an expression of being.
Practice This Now
Before giving, close your eyes and imagine your supply as already present; give from that felt sense of fullness.
