Inner Reception of Innocence
2 Corinthians 7:2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse asks to be received and asserts that the speaker harmed no one, corrupted no one, and defrauded no one, emphasizing integrity toward others.
Neville's Inner Vision
Receive us into the sanctuary of your awareness, for this is the state of consciousness that has harmed no man and, therefore, bears no guilt in the inner court. In Neville’s terms, the letters of Paul become the whisper of your I AM—the immutable you that cannot offend the world it imagines. When you identify with the state that “has wronged no man, corrupted no one, defrauded no one,” you are choosing a mode of consciousness that is pure and unassailable by exterior accusation. Imagination is the instrument by which you prove this innocence; by assuming the feeling that you are, at this moment, wholly righteous and received by the I AM, you rewrite the memory of past actions as though they never touched another. The inner world is not haunted by guilt when it stands in the truth that you are the ruler of your own states of being, and your reality conforms to the integrity you adopt. In this light, “Receive us” becomes a summons to live in the present as the unblemished self, welcomed by consciousness itself.
Practice This Now
Assume the state: I am received by the I AM; I have harmed no one. Sit with this feeling for several minutes, and imagine a scene where you are welcomed into your inner circle exactly as you are, then let that innocence color your next choice.
