Inner Turning: Godly Sorrow Realized
2 Corinthians 7:11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Godly sorrow is an inward turning that yields carefulness, cleansing of self, and a feverish zeal for righteousness. It culminates in proven clarity as the inner state shifts toward truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the I AM in you, this is not a burden but a clearing of air within consciousness. Godly sorrow, in this reading, is the awakening of a new state of awareness that refuses the old, limited pattern. The self is corrected not by punishment from without, but by an inward pivot—each sentiment a movement of consciousness toward truth. The care, the clearing of yourselves, the indignation, the fear, the vehement desire, the zeal, the revenge—these are the inner motions by which you prove you have shifted. They are not external pages turned, but inner turns of mind that align you with your higher Self. When you stop identifying with the old state (the ego’s sorrow) and instead affirm, I am the I AM, you experience a clearing—an inner visa stamped with integrity. This verse says: you have shown yourselves clear in this matter because your consciousness has changed, and with that change, your world reveals a new order. The Spirit within is birthing a new condition by your belief in it; your repentance is simply conceding to the truth you already are.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, recall a fault. Revise it by declaring: I have cleared this in my consciousness; I am now the I AM, fully aware, fully free.
