Inner Sanctification Practice
2 Corinthians 7:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 7 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul invites believers to cleanse themselves from all filthiness—both of body and spirit—and to pursue holiness in reverent fear. He also assures them of mutual love and bold, joyful fellowship amid tribulation.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, these words invite you to dwell in a state of spotless being. The 'promises' are not distant favors but the reality of your I AM moment right now. Cleanse yourself not by ritual alone but by turning your attention to the I AM that you are. Flesh and spirit are the two poles of your inner weather; what you imagine, fear, or desire becomes your atmosphere. To 'perfect holiness in the fear of God' is to align your feeling with the truth that you are already righteous in the sight of your own I AM. When tribulation arises, do not resist it as outside; regard it as a signal to revise your inner assumption. The boldness and comfort the speaker feels flow from unity with you in spirit, a unity you can claim. Your practice is simple: (1) assume the state of holiness now, (2) revise any sense of deficiency, (3) feel it real as though your promise is fulfilled. Dwell in the conviction that the Father within you approves your cleansing and your fearless, affectionate life.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit, close your eyes, and assume the state of holiness now by quietly repeating, 'I am already clean and one with the I AM.' Then savor the feeling of being wholly accepted and let it redefine your next moment.
