Dwelling Within the Living Temple

2 Corinthians 6:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 6 in context

Scripture Focus

16And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2 Corinthians 6:16

Biblical Context

Paul asks what harmony can exist between the temple of God and idols. The verse names you as the temple of the living God, with God dwelling in you and claiming you as His people.

Neville's Inner Vision

Believe that the temple is your entire state of awareness. Idols are beliefs or habits that pretend to be you, but they occupy a corner of mind rather than the whole. The question in spirit asks what agreement can there be between the living God and any idol you have accepted. The answer is none; you and God are one by your consciousness. When you stop consenting to separation and realize I am that I am dwelling here, God walks in your rooms, and He becomes your God and you become His people in feeling. This is not outward ritual but an inner state. Your true identity dissolves fear, lack, and limitation, because the inner temple is saturated with divine presence. The moment you revise the image of yourself as separate from God, you instantly alter your surroundings; you shift from idol-worship to covenant loyalty. Practice approaching life as if you already live in communion with the inexhaustible source, and the 'agreement' between God and you is proven true by the felt presence of peace, guidance, and creative power.

Practice This Now

Assume I am the living God dwelling in me now. Feel the presence as the room I breathe in; let any fear or idol-like thought dissolve as you imagine God walking in your inner halls.
