Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul tells the Corinthians that his own outreach is a sign of an open mouth and an enlarged heart. The real constraint is their own inward resistance, and the remedy is to enlarge their consciousness toward generosity.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, hear the verse as a description of your inner state. 'Our mouth is open unto you' speaks of unimpeded communication flowing from a heart that has expanded in awareness. 'Our heart is enlarged' is not a physical event but a shift in consciousness—an inner spaciousness you can claim now. The Corinthians are not 'straitened in us'; they are straitened within their own bowels, by narrow belief, by the conviction that scarcity rules relationships. The call, 'be ye also enlarged,' is a command to align your inner climate with abundance: to reciprocate with generous attention, words, and love. When you permit your awareness to widen, you will see that the very conditions you crave—recompense, mutual respect, unity—are already yours, awaiting your acknowledgment. The 'recompence' is the natural outcome of your inner expansion: as you grow larger in consciousness, your external world mirrors the same generosity. Remember, God is your I AM, your present awareness; imagination creates what you accept. Enlarge your inner room, and let your voice express the truth of your enlarged heart.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and imagine your chest expanding; affirm, 'I am enlarged, my heart is open.' Then envision speaking to someone with warm openness, feeling the spaciousness in your voice and in your giving.
