2 Corinthians 5:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 5 in context

Scripture Focus

5Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 5:5

Biblical Context

God has prepared us for the same purpose and given us the Spirit as the earnest of what is to come. The inner assurance is already ours, ready to be lived from within.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture this: the selfsame thing you seek is not distant but already wrought in you by God, the I Am. The 'earnest of the Spirit' is the inward pledge—an unshakable sense of divine presence that your consciousness already holds. In Neville's terms, God is not outside but within your very awareness, the living I Am that asserts and sustains form. When you accept that you have been prepared for this purpose, you align your feeling with the end and let imagination do the work. Imagination is the mechanism by which reality is cast from the inner state to the outer world; therefore, dwell in the feeling of the wish fulfilled, as if it were your current experience. Do not plead for it; acknowledge it as already true, and persist in the inner conviction until the external shows what your inner state has established.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you already possess the desired outcome: I am the Spirit's earnest within me. Feel the inner assurance, and dwell in that state until it colors every thought and action today.
