Seeing Beyond Flesh: Inner Christ

2 Corinthians 5:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 5 in context

Scripture Focus

16Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.
2 Corinthians 5:16

Biblical Context

The verse invites us to stop judging people by outward appearances and to stop identifying Christ with a historical human, pointing instead to the inner state of consciousness that knows all as the I AM.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scripture, ‘flesh’ is the old state of mind that judges by appearances. We are commanded to know no man by outward form, for Christ is no longer an external figure but the inner realization of God achieved within the I AM. When you look at another, you are invited to disidentify from their body and recognize the inner state that animates all forms. If you slip into old perceptions, revise them by returning to the conviction that you are the I AM and that every person is an expression of that divine consciousness. This awakens a new creation: you no longer measure truth by surface traits, but by the reality of God within. Thus, something irrevocable happens—the outward world reflects the inward Christ you now acknowledge as your ongoing, living fact.

Practice This Now

Practice the feeling that you are the I AM observing all beings; when meeting someone, revise your perception with 'I know you by the inner Christ within me' and hold that inner sight until the external appearance softens into its radiant truth.
