Constrained by Christ's Love

2 Corinthians 5:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 5 in context

Scripture Focus

14For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Biblical Context

Christ's love governs believers, guiding their self-image to reflect Christ's death and resurrection. They are urged to live not for themselves, but for the one who died for all and rose again.

Neville's Inner Vision

To know the love of Christ is to know a binding of your selfhood to a greater Life. When you judge that one died for all, you acknowledge a universal death within your image, and the old I loses its grip as the One Life awakens. The love that constrained Paul is the calm assumption you apply to every impulse: if Christ died for all, then all are kept in a state awaiting my renewed awareness. You do not live to yourself but unto Him who died and rose again, and so your private will is subdued by a higher intent. This is not a feat of effort but a reorientation of consciousness—the inner reference shifts from me to the Presence that lives through you. As you maintain that assumption, thoughts, feelings, and choices align with service, surrender, and creative compassion. Your world rearranges itself as the Spirit courts revelation, until you recognize the risen Christ within as your true, constant center.

Practice This Now

Assume the state, 'I live unto Christ, who died for all and rose again,' and feel that life as my present reality. Let every self-centered thought revise to reflect service and unity with Him.
