Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul speaks of awe before God and the motive to persuade others, while stressing that our true nature is laid bare to God and to each conscience; we do not boast in outward appearances but aim to align heart and action.
Neville's Inner Vision
Know the terror of the Lord as the conscious apprehension of the I AM within. This is not fear of punishment but the reverent shock of awake awareness, awakening your authority to persuade not by vanity but by the truth you carry in your own heart. We are made manifest unto God—our inner state is visible to the Source, and thus to those who encounter us through their own conscience. We do not boast of ourselves outwardly; we offer the occasion for others to answer the question of whether their glory resides in appearance or in heart. Whether we are beside ourselves or sober, it is for your cause: the disposition of your inner state governs the world you see. When you cultivate the feeling that you are the I AM present as you, the outer speaks of your inner truth, and others are drawn to the integrity they sense behind your words. The terror so understood becomes reverence that fuels honest living and compassionate persuasion, born from inner certainty rather than external show.
Practice This Now
Assume the state of the I AM right now; feel your inner gaze as God looking through you. Revise any worry about appearances by declaring, 'I am the I AM in you,' and observe one small, real-world affirmation that confirms your inner state in the next 24 hours.
