The Christ Within Speaks
2 Corinthians 4:5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul declares his preaching is not of himself but of Christ Jesus the Lord. He adds that they serve the believers for Jesus' sake.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here, the inner Paul speaks as a state of consciousness. The 'we' is not a faction of people but the I AM in action, choosing to vocalize not ego but the Christ within. 'Preach not ourselves' signals a shift from personal reputation to the divine idea moving through you. When you imagine yourself as the mouthpiece of Christ, your words become a conduit for the inner Lord. Likewise, 'and ourselves your servants' is a revision of identity: you are a servant to the purpose that is God in you, serving the needs of others for the sake of Jesus' spirit, not your name. The world you encounter is a mirror of your inner listening—where you strive to be useful, humble, and true, the inner Christ is free to speak. The practical effect is inner humility that does not seek glory but expression of the idea of God. Trust that this inner voice is sufficient; when you speak, you are not claiming ownership of outcomes, you are simply the instrument through which Christ shines.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, dwell in the I AM within, and revise your sense of self to be the servant through whom Christ speaks; in your next interaction, let the divine voice act, for Jesus' sake.
