Inner Light Awakening: 2 Corinthians 4:3-6
2 Corinthians 4:3-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 4 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage speaks of a gospel that may be hidden to those whose minds are blinded, yet the divine light shines in our hearts to reveal knowledge of the glory of God in Christ.
Neville's Inner Vision
To me, the truth here is that the gospel is not something outside you; it is a light you awaken in your own consciousness. The god of this world is merely a habit of thought blinding the mind that would believe. But when you accept that the light of the glorious gospel shines in your heart, you see the image of God in the face of Jesus Christ. We do not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus the Lord; we preach the Lord inside you as your own radiance. The outer world may blind the mind with appearances, yet God commanded light to shine out of darkness and that command is fulfilled within your own inner room. You are the one upon whom God has shined; the work is to dwell in that light until it becomes your entire sense of self and until the glory of God becomes the only reality you know as Christ within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state I am the light of the gospel within, and feel the inner radiance illuminate your thoughts. Revise any belief of blindness by softly affirming The light shines now in me until it feels real.
