Spirit Liberty and Image

2 Corinthians 3:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 3 in context

Scripture Focus

17Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the LORD.
2 Corinthians 3:17-18

Biblical Context

Liberty comes from the Lord as Spirit; by beholding His glory within, you are transformed into His image, from glory to glory, by the Spirit.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scripture, the 'Lord' spoken of is the Spirit within—the I AM you consistently ignore when you identify with the body and its troubles. When Paul says, where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty, he is telling you that liberty is a state of consciousness, not a condition of weather or circumstance. The glass or mirror is your attention; when you behold the glory of the Lord within, you behold your own divine nature. Do not look outward for change; keep your eye on the inner radiance and let your sense of self shift. As you continually rest in that vision, you are transformed—gradually, from glory to glory—by the Spirit: your inner image is renewed until your outer life reflects that upright image. This is the practical application of salvation: you remain in the awareness of your true I AM, and the world adjusts to your renewed consciousness, one degree at a time.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am free now.' Hold that assumption, then imagine you are gazing into a bright glass where your true image, the Lord within, shines; feel the renewed you becoming real here and now.
