Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul urges the Corinthians to confirm their love toward him and to prove their obedience by doing so. The act of love and forgiveness is the measure of faithful conduct.
Neville's Inner Vision
From the Neville vantage, this verse is not about a person named Paul or a church quarrel, but about your inner state. 'Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him' becomes: awaken to the love that you already are toward every facet of your being and toward life. The 'him' is the inner image of a circumstance or person in your life that has stirred resistance. To 'confirm your love' is to confirm the reality that your consciousness loves unconditionally. 'For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things' translates as: you prove your obedience to the inner law by consistently choosing love rather than grievance. Obedience in all things means alignment of imagination with the law of love; it is not external compliance but inner discipline. When you forgive, you do not forgive others as a favor but as your own state of being aligned with the I AM. Therefore, practice living in the present moment as one who already forgives and loves, and you will see the outer events bend to your inner state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already loving toward the person. Revise any grievance and feel the relief as if the act of love is already done, dwelling in that state for a minute.
