Inner Joy And Love Within
2 Corinthians 2:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul writes to spare sorrow at his coming, trusting that his joy will be shared with them; he writes from deep affliction to reveal the abundant love he holds.
Neville's Inner Vision
Paul's words invite you to notice that no external turn of events must precede a joyful state. The tears and affliction are inner movements: a belief that you and others stand apart. The true scene is your inner I AM, aware of an unbroken communion with those you love. When you assume that your joy is the joy of others, you activate a unity of consciousness that dissolves distance. The love which I have more abundantly unto you is not merely sentiment; it is the current you can claim as your own right now. In Neville's terms, you revise by assuming the end: you dwell in the feeling that you are already connected, your heart overflowing toward them, and their response indistinguishable from your own inner satisfaction. As you do this, affliction recedes, because you cease to ask the world to mirror your lack and begin to embody the state that creates it. Your present inner state becomes the cause; you witness the world agreeing with your joy.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the end—your joy is their joy; feel the circle of love around you and rest in the I AM that unites all.
