Triumph in Christ: Inner Savor
2 Corinthians 2:14-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul declares that God causes us to triumph in Christ and that we are a fragrant expression of Him, a life-bearing aroma to some and a warning to others, while we speak with honesty as from God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Now, as I look with you at 2 Corinthians 2:14-17, hear the whisper: you are not striving to win a distant battle, you are acknowledging a state of consciousness that already triumphs in Christ. Christ is not outside of you, but the very I AM that you are aware of—your living awareness that perfumes every room with truth. The verse says God always causes us to triumph in Christ and reveals the savor of His knowledge by us in every place. That savor is the aroma of God within your being, the scent that to those open to it is life, and to those closed to it is death. You cannot fail when you speak in sincerity, for you speak not from your own mind but from God in you, in truth and in Christ. You are the fragrance of life to those who awaken to Him and the fragrance of death to beliefs that resist change. The 'who is sufficient' question dissolves when you rest in the sufficiency of God in you. Trust this inward movement.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are already triumphant in Christ now; feel the aroma of His knowledge filling your surroundings. In moments of doubt, revise with 'I am the savor of life unto life' and speak from God in Christ.
