Inner Joy of Tender Love
2 Corinthians 2:1-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Corinthians 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Paul decides not to visit in heaviness and wants his readers to share his joy. His tears reveal a loving motive aimed at awakening their awareness of mutual love.
Neville's Inner Vision
Paul does not speak to the outer scene alone; he is inviting you to recognize that you are the author and the audience of every feeling. The constant behind the letter is that in you, the I AM, there is a state in which heaviness cannot rule and the joy of one becomes the joy of all. When he writes with much affliction and tears, the inner movement is not a complaint about others but a summons to revise your sense of separation. The true meaning is that the community exists as a single field of consciousness; to grieve them is to grieve yourself, to rejoice with them is to awaken your own gladness. By choosing not to come in heaviness you are choosing the light that heals, you are affirming that love is stronger than pain and that your imagination can convert lack into abundance. The heart of grace is recognizing that you are not striving to change others, but to awaken in yourself the sight that they already inhabit the state of peace and unity you desire.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and enter the state that you and your community are already restored; silently affirm I am one with their joy, and feel it as your own.
