2 Corinthians 2:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 2 in context

Scripture Focus

1But I determined this with myself, that I would not come again to you in heaviness.
2For if I make you sorry, who is he then that maketh me glad, but the same which is made sorry by me?
2 Corinthians 2:1-2

Biblical Context

Paul resolves not to visit them in heaviness. He notes that causing sorrow would rob him of joy, pointing to reconciliation that flows from gentleness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your verse is the inner dialogue of your I AM. The heaviness Paul dislikes is not an outer gloom but a state of consciousness you can shed in an instant. If you approach another with a heavy self-image, you become the cause of sorrow in the other and you too are saddened by that choice. Yet the inner Paul whispers: I will not visit you as burden; I will come as presence that uplifts. When you imagine the other as already reconciled, joy returns to the space between you, and your own heart becomes the glad one. The true power is mercy, humility, and a patient longing for harmony. Do not demand change from without; revise your inner scene until your invitation itself is healing. In the I AM you are the author of every relationship, and imagination creates the relationship you inhabit. So choose the gentle visitation that leaves room for grace, and watch as light replaces heaviness, and reconciliation grows in your world.

Practice This Now

Before your next contact, assume the inner scene: I come to you as a gentle, healing presence; imagine you smiling and at ease, and let your words rise from that light I AM.
