Truth Without Posturing: Inner Reputation

2 Corinthians 12:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 12 in context

Scripture Focus

6For though I would desire to glory, I shall not be a fool; for I will say the truth: but now I forbear, lest any man should think of me above that which he seeth me to be, or that he heareth of me.
2 Corinthians 12:6

Biblical Context

Paul states he will tell the truth but will not glory or boast, so as not to distort others' perception of him; he aims to stay true to his inner state rather than chasing external praise.

Neville's Inner Vision

Assume you are the I AM that witnesses all opinions. Paul's note that he would not glory yet would tell the truth points to the one presence you cannot escape: your inner state. If you seek glory, you overlay your life with a costume others applaud; if you forbear, you allow the truth of consciousness to speak through you. In Neville fashion, the outer reputation is but a mirror of your inner conviction. Say to yourself: I am the truth of my being, and the world will reflect that truth in time, not by forced boasting but by a quiet, natural light. Do not be concerned with being seen as you appear to others; be concerned with being consciously aware. When you are fully present to the I AM, you will find you do not need to persuade anyone about who you are. Your divine image will surface in deeds and circumstances, and others will hear of you in a way that confirms your inner state. Practice the heart-felt assumption that you are already as you wish to be, and the rest follows.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume, I am the truth of my being. Feel the inner light steady, then observe the outer life aligning without force.
