Biblical Context
Paul states it is not expedient to boast, and instead he turns to visions and revelations from the Lord. He recalls a man carried to the third heaven, a symbol of higher inner awareness.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville's ear, 12:1-2 whispers that glorying in the outer self is a distraction from your real birthright in consciousness. The visions and revelations are not distant events but states you already dwell in when you turn your attention inward. The 'third heaven' is not a place out there, but the deepest chamber of your I AM where thoughts and feelings align with the divine present moment. The apostle speaks of a man in Christ; what he means is the YOU who awakens within Christ's consciousness—the I AM—can travel beyond ordinary perception by faith in the reality of inner experience. Do not seek to prove yourself to others; seek to know yourself as the living God within. The moment you accept these inner experiences as yours, they become your daily reality, shaping perception, choice, and outcome. Your own 'vision' arises from the conviction that you already are where you long to be; your job is to dwell in that feeling, not chase after the spectacle of proof.
Practice This Now
Impose a simple practice now: close your eyes, breathe, and revise by saying, 'I am in the third heaven now; my I AM is awake to visions and revelations.' Maintain the feeling until it feels true.
