The Inner Word of Truth

2 Corinthians 1:17-18 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Corinthians 1 in context

Scripture Focus

17When I therefore was thus minded, did I use lightness? or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be yea yea, and nay nay?
18But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
2 Corinthians 1:17-18

Biblical Context

Paul questions whether his intent is light and wavering or steady. He asserts that, unlike fickle speech, God is true and his message is reliable.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the question in 2 Corinthians 1:17–18 is not about clever rhetoric but about the state of your consciousness. When I ask, did I speak with lightness, or did I fashion my purpose according to the flesh—yea and nay? the answer is: God is true; the I AM within you is the sole reality. Your words toward others carry the weight of the inner conviction you actually live. If you waver, you clothe your thoughts in doubt and your world follows suit with instability. If you settle in the awareness that you are one with the living truth, your yea becomes a settled yes and nay dissolves into quiet alignment. The principle is simple: your outer speech mirrors your inner state. Let your inner state be that which you intend to become, and let your imagination do the completing work. Do not chase appearances; assume the end already in place and reveal it by speaking from that level of truth. When the I AM is true for you, your word is not yea and nay, but a single, continuous yes that harmonizes with reality.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and declare: I AM true within me; my word is steady, a single yes reflecting the state I dwell in. If doubt arises, revise the thought and return to that inner assurance, feeling it real.
