The Inner House of Prayer
2 Chronicles 7:12-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God tells Solomon that He has chosen this place for sacrifice. If the people humble themselves, pray, seek His face, and turn from wicked ways, He will hear, forgive, and heal their land.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your inner temple is not a stone, but the state of consciousness you call I AM. When the scripture says, I have chosen this place for myself, translate it as: I have chosen this moment as the sanctuary where my awareness can release limitation and align with divine purpose. The threatenings about rain and pestilence are inner movements showing what happens when the mind forgets its true pattern. Humble yourself—quiet the ego’s loud claims and identify with the witness who knows, I AM. Pray and seek the face of God within; tend your inner gaze until your thoughts reflect truth rather than fear. Turn from wicked ways—release guilt, blame, and resistance; let forgiveness and reconciliation flow from deeper self into your life. Then the eyes and ears of your consciousness are opened to the prayer made in this inner sanctuary. For the name of God to dwell there forever is your continuous sense: you are permanently the temple of divine presence, and your land—the field of your life—heals as you awaken.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly and assume you are the temple Solomon described. Repeat internally, 'I am chosen, I am sanctified, my awareness hears and heals,' and feel this truth as present reality for several minutes.
