The Inner House Of Name

2 Chronicles 6:7-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 6 in context

Scripture Focus

7Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
8But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:
9Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.
2 Chronicles 6:7-9

Biblical Context

David’s heart desired to build a house for the LORD, and God acknowledges the intent but says the actual building will be done by his son, signaling a shift from current state to a future consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the story, the temple is not merely stone but the state of your consciousness. God’s remark that it was in David’s heart to build shows the feeling itself is a construction of the desired reality. Yet the outer form is entrusted to the next phase of consciousness—the son who shall come forth—meaning your next state of awareness will realize the temple. The Law is simple: your inner imagination is the architect, and outward form follows your inner decree, not yesterday’s longing. David’s desire is praised because it confirms growing alignment, but the actual act arises through the next level of being. Therefore, dwell in the assumption that the temple of your name already exists in your awareness; feel its walls, its measure, its glory as a completed fact. The divine approval is an invitation to trust your next state and to allow it to express through you when you hold the end in mind.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the end: I am the temple of the LORD, already built within me. Feel the walls, the height, and the name operating now, and dwell there until the next state arises.
