Mind Washings and Sacred Purity
2 Chronicles 4:6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse describes ten washbasins set to purify what is offered, while the sea is for the priests to wash in. It presents purification as preparation for true worship.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the faithful imagination, the temple's ten lavers are not mere stone; they are ten stations of consciousness where thoughts are washed before they become form. The two groups of five—right and left—speak of balance: affirmations on one side, releases of doubt on the other, each basin a mental purification. When it states they washed in them what they offered for the burnt offering, it reveals that every offering imagined must be washed by awareness before it can return as life. The sea reserved for the priests is the vast principle of I AM, the universal water in which every act of worship is renewed. The priests are the I AM within you that carries the offering into the sea of consciousness and returns its energy purified for manifestation. Purification, therefore, is not merely external ritual but an inward activity of alignment—clearing thought, intention, and feeling until they shine in harmony with your true state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and envision ten basins before you, in two rows. Silently assign to each basin a facet of a current offering (thought, fear, desire, intention) and wash them one by one in imagination. Then step into a vast sea where the I AM receives and purifies the offerings, feeling already purified and ready for manifestation.
