Inner Exile, Inner Reign
2 Chronicles 36:8-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read 2 Chronicles 36 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It records Jehoiakim’s abominations and the short reign of his son Jehoiachin. Nebuchadnezzar then exiles Jehoiachin to Babylon and appoints Zedekiah as ruler.
Neville's Inner Vision
All that you read here is not distant history but the map of your inner states. Jehoiakim’s abominations is a psyche clinging to outer appearances, a mind that seeks power in the seen world. The “book” you are reading is your own consciousness recording such misalignment. Jehoiachin’s eight-year-old ascent to the throne, lasting only a short time, signals childlike states that briefly take charge but cannot endure when you identify with the I AM. Nebuchadnezzar’s exile of Jehoiachin represents the withdrawal of vitality when fear or limitation dominates awareness. The goodly vessels of the house of the LORD lifted to Babylon symbolize your sacred faculties displaced by belief in separation. Zedekiah, installed as king, reflects a counterfeit sovereignty offered by the outer self. Yet the Kingdom of God remains the inward reality you can reclaim by turning attention from outward events to the steadfast I AM. Your present assumption can re-place true rule within you, and events will align with that inner throne.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM is ruler of your inner Jerusalem this moment. Feel it-real by revising outward events as expressions of your divine sovereignty.
