Biblical Context
Pharaoh of Egypt imposes control over Judah, taxing the land. He replaces Jehoahaz with his brother Eliakim, renaming him Jehoiakim, and leads Jehoahaz away to Egypt.
Neville's Inner Vision
See in this passage a vivid mirror of your inner state. The 'king of Egypt' stands for a dominating mindset—fear, control, and the ego's decree—that taxes and regulates the land of your consciousness. Jehoahaz represents a younger, perhaps more spontaneous aspect of yourself, presently subdued and carried away by the force of that external power. Eliakim, renamed Jehoiakim, signals a shift in self-image under pressure: you adopt a new name, a new role, to survive within the old order. Necho’s action to carry Jehoahaz to Egypt reveals how belief in separation from the I AM entrains loss and exile from your true sovereignty. Yet all of this happens within the theater of mind; the outer event merely reflects inner dynamics. The only reality is awareness, the I AM, which is unmoved by appearances. By choosing to align with the I AM, you can dissolve the dominion of the external ruler and restore true kingship—your inner name restored by consciousness that declares, I AM king here and now.
Practice This Now
Imitate the scene in your mind: close your eyes, breathe, and declare I AM the ruler of my inner land. Visualize renaming a limiting belief from Jehoahaz to Jehoiakim and feel the sovereignty returning as the tax and fear dissolve.
