Read 2 Chronicles 36 in context

Scripture Focus

21To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.
2 Chronicles 36:21

Biblical Context

The verse states that the land would observe its Sabbaths for seventy years until the LORD's word through Jeremiah was fulfilled.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the text does not speak of geography alone, but of your inner territory. The land that lay desolate is your current state of mind when you have forgotten the I AM that animates it. The decree to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah is an inner decree you speak to yourself: I AM the Lord of this life, and I set it to rest until it returns to its true Sabbath, its original covenant of rest. The seventy years are not calendar marks but the time your attention remains steady, disciplined, and surrendered to the inner law of rest. As long as you abide in this inner sabbath, the outer world mirrors your inward fulfillment; you awaken to the return—the return to your true home within, the realization that the land's fertility returns as you sustain the consciousness that you are the I AM, not its servant to fear or lack.

Practice This Now

Assume the state of the I AM resting the land; softly declare, 'I AM the Lord of this life; I rest it in sacred time until it returns to its true Sabbath.' Hold this feeling for a few minutes and let it color your day.
