Compassion Through Inner Messengers

2 Chronicles 36:15-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 36 in context

Scripture Focus

15And the LORD God of their fathers sent to them by his messengers, rising up betimes, and sending; because he had compassion on his people, and on his dwelling place:
16But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till there was no remedy.
2 Chronicles 36:15-16

Biblical Context

God's compassion moves Him to send messengers; yet the people mocked and despised the words of the prophets, inviting wrath with no remedy.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that the 'Lord God of their fathers' is your own I AM, your awareness, sending reminders betimes to awaken compassion for the temple of your heart. The messengers are the quiet promptings of imagination that urge you to release fear and listen. Their rising and sending are movements within your state of consciousness, not external events. When you answer with mockery—the refusal to heed, the disbelief that denies the guidance—you close the door to transformation, and the inner lamp dims. The wrath spoken of is simply the natural result of withholding the aid of awareness from itself; there is no remedy when you refuse to listen. But this is only a parable teaching you to shift your inner weather. The remedy is to embrace the messenger, revise the story you tell about yourself, and hold the feeling that you are already the I AM, the compassionate one who responds with faith. In that state, the imagined command becomes real in your life, and the exterior world turns toward the truth you now accept.

Practice This Now

Impose the assumption: I AM the compassionate reality now; revise any disbelief by repeating, 'There is a remedy in my inner state.' Then feel the truth of this as you rest in the I AM for a minute.
