Biblical Context
Zedekiah ruled Jerusalem for eleven years and chose evil over humility, resisting the inner guidance of the LORD and the prophetic word, and hardening his heart against turning toward God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Zedekiah stands for the state of consciousness that wants power but refuses the inner governance of the I AM. The outer king and the prophet Jeremiah symbolize the inner word that would reorient the mind toward truth; to 'humble' before the prophet is to acknowledge that a higher order of awareness guides your life. When you stiffen your neck and harden your heart, you are insisting on a separate authority—the ego or fear—rather than yielding to the LORD, the living I AM within. In your experience, similar scenes play out as you resist a needed correction inside your imagination or repent from a pattern; you feel defended by external appearances (circumstances, people) and exile yourself from the inner kingdom of peace. The path back is simple: assume the state of harmony with the inner LORD now, revise the story you tell about yourself, and feel your inner Jerusalem awaken. By choosing to turn inward and align with your true source, your inner state changes, and your life will gradually reflect that alignment, as the outward exile of limitation dissolves into freedom.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state of humble listening to the inner voice. Silently declare, 'I turn unto the LORD now,' and feel your heart soften as the I AM guides your next choice.
