Inner Crown of Popular Will

2 Chronicles 33:25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 33 in context

Scripture Focus

25But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
2 Chronicles 33:25

Biblical Context

The people of the land killed all who conspired against Amon. They then made Josiah king in his stead.

Neville's Inner Vision

Read this scene as a map of my inner life. The 'people' are the many states of my awareness; the conspirators against Amon are thoughts that would dethrone my true king. When those thoughts are set aside by the land, space opens for a higher ruler to arise—Josiah, the principle of my I AM, crowned by my recognition. The enthronement by popular will is my inner agreement: I consent to govern by righteousness, justice, and compassion. The Kingdom of God becomes my present ruler, not a distant realm, as I take responsibility for every sensation, memory, impulse. Judgment comes as I observe and release what no longer serves my highest state; accountability becomes a gentle duty. In this way, the outer event is the mirror of my inner reign; I am king in the I AM, and my world follows the crown I affirm within.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively assume you are already seated on the throne of your I AM. Feel the crowd of your thoughts declaring your rule; then imagine the dethroned old self fading away and Josiah rising in your inner sight.
