Biblical Context
He commanded the people to support the priests and Levites so they could teach and remain faithful to the Law; the people responded by bringing abundant firstfruits, tithes, and holy offerings.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the one who dwells in Jerusalem—the seat of your awareness—the command to give is a command to your inner covenant. The priests and the Levites are your faculties of attention, study, and devotion; when you feed them with time, grateful study, and right focus, you prove that the law of the LORD is alive within. The moment the command goes abroad, the children of Israel—the thoughts and feelings of your mind—bring in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, oil, honey, and all increase of the field; and the tithe of all things you bring in abundantly. The households of Judah, dwelling in your inner cities, contribute the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the holy things consecrated to the LORD your God, laid by heaps in your consciousness. This outward sign mirrors your inner discipline: order, reverence, generosity. As you steward this inner temple, you discover heaps of supply and energy, reflecting your alignment with the I AM. Wealth is the sign of a consciousness well tended.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, feel the I AM within, and imagine the inner temple thriving. Assume now that a portion of your energy is devoted to sacred service; feel abundance rising as you give the first fruits of your attention.
