Biblical Context
Solomon begins the LORD's temple project in Jerusalem, at Mount Moriah, in the place David prepared on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, during the fourth year of his reign. This signals the initiation of true worship, under covenant loyalty, and the establishment of kingly authority to create a dwelling for God in consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that the outer act of building is a symbol of an inner decision. The temple begins in your I AM, the awareness that stands as king and builder of your life. Mount Moriah stands for clear, expansive consciousness where devotion is placed; the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite represents clearing out fear and limitation so you can lay a solid foundation. The four-year timeline and the second month signal you are not waiting for a future event but starting now in a deliberate act of faith. The moment when God appeared to David is replicated as you awaken to the covenant loyalty within—the vow that you are whole, present, and sovereign in your inner realm. As you imagine stone upon stone rising in your mind, you enact that you are the king with authority to arrange and honor the sacred space. The place you build is the dwelling-place of the I AM, and what appears outwardly follows the inner reality you establish now through belief.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, I AM building the inner temple now. Imagine placing one stone after another in your consciousness and feel the presence of God filling the space.
