Inner Sacrifice, Outer Praise

2 Chronicles 29:31-34 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 29 in context

Scripture Focus

31Then Hezekiah answered and said, Now ye have consecrated yourselves unto the LORD, come near and bring sacrifices and thank offerings into the house of the LORD. And the congregation brought in sacrifices and thank offerings; and as many as were of a free heart burnt offerings.
32And the number of the burnt offerings, which the congregation brought, was threescore and ten bullocks, an hundred rams, and two hundred lambs: all these were for a burnt offering to the LORD.
33And the consecrated things were six hundred oxen and three thousand sheep.
34But the priests were too few, so that they could not flay all the burnt offerings: wherefore their brethren the Levites did help them, till the work was ended, and until the other priests had sanctified themselves: for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

Biblical Context

Hezekiah calls the people to consecrate themselves and bring offerings to the temple; the community offers freely, with Levites assisting the priests to complete the sacrifices. This past event highlights communal devotion and the sacred work accomplished through sincere, voluntary worship.

Neville's Inner Vision

This passage is a map of your inner altar. The call to consecrate is a shift in your state of consciousness—from resistance to readiness—so that you may know you are already in the presence of the I AM. When you imagine the people drawing near to the LORD, you are not seeking an external temple but enrolling in the inner temple of awareness. The free-hearted offerings are your expressions of gratitude, forgiveness, acceptance, and intention offered upon the mind’s altar. The vast counts of beasts become symbols for the many thoughts, habits, and feelings you choose to lay down. The priests being few and the Levites stepping in reveal that outer faculties may seem limited, yet your inner faculties—your higher self—are abundant for sanctification. Persist in this alignment, and the temple fills with presence; worship becomes a lived state where God is felt as your own abiding I AM, dissolving the distance between you and the divine.

Practice This Now

Imaginatively assume you are already consecrated to the LORD. In your mind, offer gratitude and praise as if the inner altar is thriving, and feel the Presence respond as real.
