Biblical Context
Ahaz dies and is buried in Jerusalem, not in the royal tombs. Hezekiah takes the throne in his stead.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the outer history is but a mirror of the inner state. Ahaz represents a worn-out pattern of consciousness—one that clings to appearances, political alliances, and outward worship. His death signals not the end of you, but the passing of that pattern from active rule. Being buried in Jerusalem, yet not among the kings’ tombs, shows that the old self is not truly banished from memory, only displaced from the throne of awareness. In the inner chamber, the I AM does not lament; it simply returns sovereignty to the living governor: Hezekiah. Hezekiah is a higher state of consciousness—a ruler who acts from truth, courage, and trust in providence—now seated on the throne of your inner Jerusalem. The Kingdom of God, therefore, is not a distant realm but this shift in belief, this moment when you let the I AM govern. When you accept that the old ruler has yielded and invite the inner king to reign, the outer world begins to reorganize to reflect your new state. Your circumstances align with your assumed reality as your awareness assumes itself as ruler.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and revise your sense of self: declare the old Ahaz dead and buried in the city. See Hezekiah seated on the throne of your inner Jerusalem; feel the I AM ruling now.
