Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Uzziah's strength turned to destruction when he exalted himself and attempted to burn incense in the temple. The priests confronted him, and his pride brought leprosy, severing him from the house of the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
Uzziah in you is the self-concept swollen with power, assuming it may perform a priestly rite in the temple of your mind. To burn incense is to push the ego into a sacred office that belongs to the priests of your inner Aaron, the quiet stillness of awareness. When you listen to the inner guardians—the disciplines of conscience, humility, and true worship—they step between the king-thought and the altar, declaring that this is not your function. Pride, like a fever in the forehead, marks the moment of misalignment; the leprosy is the visible sign that you have separated yourself from the house of the LORD, your original state of pure perception. Yet this is not a curse but a correction, a turning back to the I AM from which all power flows. When you yield and let the I AM govern, the inner palace is restored and you resume rightful worship, not by force of personality but by alignment with divine consciousness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: For 5 minutes, sit with the I AM as king and let the inner priests govern. When pride rises, revise by affirming I am awareness and this temple is ruled by the I AM.
