Guarding the Inner Temple
2 Chronicles 23:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
A priest uses authority to eject a corrupt figure from the military ranks, warning that anyone who follows her will be slain, and insisting the act not occur inside the LORD’s house.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this scene, the 'priest' is your I AM—the ruler of your inner country. The queenly 'Athaliah' stands for a wrong consciousness ruling in the outer arena of your life. The hundreds are your many habits, ideas, and attachments held in reserve around the stronghold of your attention. When the priest commands, 'Take her forth from the ranges,' he is instructing you to withdraw that invalid claim from the field of action, to stop feeding it with energy. The decree 'Slay her not in the house of the LORD' tells you to preserve the sanctuary of awareness; do not annihilate the temple's life, but cleanse the stage on which thoughts perform. By such decisive removal within, you reestablish divine order, and the kingdom of God—your state of consciousness—answers with harmony. Practice in mind that the old belief cannot stand at the gate of your being if you choose it not to.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, assume the I AM as the priest of your inner temple, and decree the old belief removed from the mind's ranks. Then feel the sanctuary settle into quiet, as the new order of consciousness takes its rightful place.
