Biblical Context
After two years of illness, a king dies from sore diseases, and his people do not burn him as they did his fathers, signaling a shift in outer honors that reflects inner state.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you stands the king—the central pattern of your consciousness. The two years of sickness symbolize a fixed mental state you have allowed to govern your life. The 'bowels fell out' and 'sore diseases' are graphic indicators of inner conditions laid bare when you resist alignment with the I AM. The people’s failure to burn him as his fathers marks the collapse of the old self’s authority in your present awareness; outer events mirror an inner judgment you have not corrected. In the Kingdom of God within, the dying king represents the soul shedding a habit, fear, or guilt that no longer serves; light replaces darkness as the ruling force. There is no punitive punishment, only natural consequence: health follows the image you hold of yourself. If you cling to the old self, decay follows; if you revise with a new image of wholeness, vitality returns. Your work is to return to the I AM, hold the healed self as real, and let that inner scene out-picture as life and body.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, place a hand on your chest, and declare I AM Health. Then vividly imagine a radiant inner light dissolving the disease, and see the old king replaced by a vibrant, healthy you.
