Biblical Context
Jehoshaphat dies; Jehoram takes the throne, while his brothers receive gifts and fortified cities; the kingdom, however, is given to the firstborn, symbolizing the ruling state of consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
All that unfolds in the outward history of Jehoshaphat and his sons is a reflection of an inner state. The father’s death and the gifting of silver, gold, and fenced cities to the brothers reveal that wealth and protection are already prepared within the mind that has many facets. Yet the throne—the kingdom—goes to Jehoram, the firstborn, because in your present awareness you have chosen a ruling state of consciousness and claim it as yours. The brothers and their gifts are not enemies; they are aspects of your self receiving abundance as you stand firm in the crown of the I AM. The outer scene answers the inner assumption: the kingdom is not a distant place but the sovereign state you inhabit now. When you persist in the sense 'I AM' as the king, the outer shows your sovereignty, and the apparent transfer simply confirms the reality you have accepted in imagination. Your life becomes a house of fenced cities because your inner king is established.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, declare 'I AM the king of my inner kingdom now,' and feel the throne beneath you; envision the wealth and fortresses of your mind becoming real in your present awareness.
