Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through the inner-eye, the verse is a map of consciousness. The procession with psalteries, harps, and trumpets is not a literal march through space, but a movement of the inner man toward the house of the LORD, the state of awareness within. Each instrument represents a quality of consciousness: psalteries for praise in the mind, harps for harmonious feeling, trumpets for proclamation and awakened resolve. When you align with that inner sanctuary, you do not seek God outside of you; you meet the I AM, the presence that you already are. The act of approaching Jerusalem is the decision to inhabit a sanctuary of holiness, to separate from restless thoughts and to let gratitude, stillness, and confident faith occupy your inner room. As you dwell there, the world you inhabit begins to reflect that inner temple: noise quiets, guidance appears, and doors open. The kingdom you seek is an inner space you can enter by imagination and belief, and by returning there again and again you realise that God is the dimension of your own awareness.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already in the inner house of the LORD. Hear an inner psaltery and feel the presence now as your reality.
