Biblical Context
The verse declares that the house one builds is great because God, the supreme Being, stands above all gods.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Solomon’s words I say within you: the house you seek to build is not brick and stone but the state of your awareness. Greatness is not declared by temples carved in stone; it is measured by the supremacy of the I AM that dwells in you. When you acknowledge that your inner sanctuary stands as the most real temple, you align with the truth that God is above all gods—an inner authority that rules your thoughts, feelings, and choices. The outer world will reflect the scale of your inner shrine only as you dwell in that awareness. Practice by choosing a moment of stillness and declaring: I am the house of God, and the I AM within me is supreme. In that assumption, you revise any sense of lack or limitation, and the imagined temple expands in mind, bringing harmony, order, and blessing into perception. The more you feel the presence of that supreme I AM, the more your life conforms to its grandeur.
Practice This Now
Assume you are the temple and feel the vast, quiet grandeur within. Repeat and feel, 'The house I build is great; the I AM within me is supreme,' until it becomes your living sense.
