Choice of Prophets Within

2 Chronicles 18:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 18 in context

Scripture Focus

5Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.
6But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might enquire of him?
7And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
2 Chronicles 18:5-7

Biblical Context

King Ahab gathers 400 prophets urging battle; Jehoshaphat seeks a true LORD prophet, and only Micaiah speaks truth, though the king hates him.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene the king is your outward self eager for a favorable outcome; the four hundred prophets are crowded beliefs and social proofs driving action. Jehoshaphat's request for a LORD prophet calls forth the inner governor—the I AM listening to the quiet, true voice. Micaiah represents the inner discernment that may warn against an easy deliverance if it contradicts your true state. The clash shows that the outer world will push a result, but you can choose to align with the inner truth. The false prophets symbolize habitual thought that tells you what you want to hear; the 'evil' forecast is not punishment but a signal to revise your state until the inner witness affirms the desired outcome as true in you. When you let the inner prophet be heard, you acknowledge that the I AM guides your life and the apparent battle is already resolved in your consciousness.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume you hear the inner prophet confirming the decision you seek; feel it real as if the outcome is already yours, and declare, I am guided by the I AM toward my desired Ramothgilead.
