Trust the LORD Within

2 Chronicles 16:7-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 16 in context

Scripture Focus

7And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said unto him, Because thou hast relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD thy God, therefore is the host of the king of Syria escaped out of thine hand.
8Were not the Ethiopians and the Lubims a huge host, with very many chariots and horsemen? yet, because thou didst rely on the LORD, he delivered them into thine hand.
9For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him. Herein thou hast done foolishly: therefore from henceforth thou shalt have wars.
10Then Asa was wroth with the seer, and put him in a prison house; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. And Asa oppressed some of the people the same time.
2 Chronicles 16:7-10

Biblical Context

Hanani rebukes Asa for relying on Syria instead of the LORD; the LORD's past deliverance shows trust. The passage warns that a heart not fully fixed on God invites wars, while the seer's imprisonment follows Asa's anger and the oppression of the people.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, Asa's story is unfolding. The king of Syria stands not as a man but as the habit of leaning on outward power—your plans, reputation, or familiar supports. When you say I must rely on this, you invite a loosening of your inner grip, and what seemed decisive becomes a mere escaped host. Yet when you turn from that dependence and rest in the LORD thy God, the so called invincible forces bow to your inner alignment. The eyes of the LORD run to and fro become your own awareness sweeping your entire being, seeking the moment when your heart is fixed on the I AM. Perfect toward him translates to unwavering trust in the inner Source. The warning thou hast done foolishly becomes a gentle invitation to revise any belief that you are powerless. From this moment, make your mental pivot I rely on the LORD within; I am the I AM aware and all powerful in this moment. When you hold that truth, the inner wars dissolve and your life reflects the strength, guidance, and calm of a heart fully devoted to God.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and imagine the situation you fear already sustained by the I AM within. Silently revise by repeating I rely on the LORD within until that certainty feels real.
