Biblical Context
2 Chronicles 15:7–8 speaks of steadfast strength and decisive action: when Asa heard the prophet Oded, he strengthened himself, removed idols, and renewed the altar, setting his land toward true worship.
Neville's Inner Vision
Be strong therefore and let not your hands be weak; this is not a command to physical stamina but a turning of mind toward unwavering I AM awareness. Your very work—refusal to tolerate idols in your life—will be rewarded as inner states align with truth. When the voice of Oded speaks to Asa, the inner man hears and awakens courage; so do you in the privacy of your imagination. The removal of the abominable idols is the letting go of false images and frozen beliefs that have held you in bondage. Not by force of arms, but by the force of conviction, you reclaim every part of your being Judah and Benjamin, and the cities taken from mount Ephraim as sections of your own consciousness previously ruled by fear, doubt, or habit. The renewal of the altar before the porch of the LORD is the act of re-dedicating attention, returning your center of awareness to the I AM, the one altar from which all true action flows. When you align with this inner dedication, your outer circumstances begin to respond as reward for your inner work.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume the feeling I am strong now, and picture removing inner idols. See the altar of the LORD being renewed within your mind, and stay in that state until it takes root.
