Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage presents a period when Israel was without the true God, a teaching priest, and the law. When they turned to the LORD in trouble, He was found, yet the times were filled with unrest and vexations across the land.
Neville's Inner Vision
Here the inner drama is not about geography but the state of awareness. To be 'without the true God' is to be without the clear I AM awareness that orders every thought and feeling. To be 'without a teaching priest' and 'without law' is to be adrift, following the noisy impulses of circumstance rather than the steady presence within. Yet the moment they 'turned unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him,' a miracle occurs in consciousness: God is found. Neville's law of consciousness tells us that any outer trouble is only the effect of an inner condition; the remedy is not to plead with external powers but to revise the inner assumption. When you imagine the presence of the I AM as your constant governor, you align with the divine order and your inner peace returns, even if outward appearances linger briefly. The storms and vexations become signals to resume your inner obedience to the I AM, which restores harmony and renders external discord moot.
Practice This Now
Assume the consciousness of the I AM now; declare 'I AM peace' and feel it real. Visualize turning from trouble to inner guidance and notice a calm arising within your life.
