Rest Before Building

2 Chronicles 14:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 14 in context

Scripture Focus

6And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the LORD had given him rest.
7Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the LORD our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.
2 Chronicles 14:6-7

Biblical Context

The land had rest because the LORD gave it. Asa used that rest to build cities and prosper as a result of seeking the LORD.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, the verse invites you to see rest as inner alignment with the I AM—the state of consciousness in which no resistance interrupts your purpose. When you and God are one in imagination, you realize that the land you inhabit—the field of your situation—rests, free from conflict, because you have surrendered to divine order. The safeguarding walls, towers, gates, and bars are symbols of disciplined choice and clear boundaries drawn by your inner vision. You do not force events; you invite them by dwelling in the assumption that rest already pervades your environment. So they built and prospered not by mere human effort, but by the conviction that rest is the natural condition of your life when you seek the Lord. The land being at rest is your own mind at ease, undisturbed by fear or doubt. This is the seedbed of strategic works: you act from rest, and your actions are guided, efficient, and flourishing.

Practice This Now

Assume the inner rest now: in solitude, feel the borderless calm that surrounds you. Then proceed with your plan as though you are building within the rest that already exists.
