God With Us As Captain

2 Chronicles 13:12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 2 Chronicles 13 in context

Scripture Focus

12And, behold, God himself is with us for our captain, and his priests with sounding trumpets to cry alarm against you. O children of Israel, fight ye not against the LORD God of your fathers; for ye shall not prosper.
2 Chronicles 13:12

Biblical Context

God is with them as captain, and the trumpets signal a wakeful alarm. They are warned not to fight against the LORD God, for resisting divine guidance leads to no prosperity.

Neville's Inner Vision

The outer army before you mirrors your inner state. God Himself is your captain—your I AM—leading you through the field of life. The sounding trumpets are the thoughts that awaken you to the truth of your oneness with that divine presence. To fight against the LORD in this sense is to resist the very force by which things prosper. When you feel pressed by circumstances, do not seek to bend the world with crude will; align your consciousness with the fact that the divine is with you now, and your power flows from that alignment. The command not to oppose becomes a discipline: yield to inner leadership, know you are guided, and watch conditions reflect your inner conviction. Prosperity is not victory over others but victory over the sense of separation. The trumpet of awareness announces that you are free as you choose to be, by accepting the God within as captain.

Practice This Now

Practice: Assume the state I am the Captain within; God leads me now. Feel this truth as real for five minutes, then carry that certainty into the day.
