Biblical Context
God appears to Solomon at night and invites him to ask for anything; Solomon requests wisdom to govern this great people.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the quiet night of awareness, God is the I AM presenting you with a question you already know the answer to: what state will you live from? Solomon's request for wisdom and knowledge is a declaration that the mind rules and the heart guides. The people Solomon speaks of are the inner thoughts, actions, and choices you encounter; the dust of the earth is the vast field of experiences your consciousness walks among. To govern is to govern your state of consciousness, not to petition from without. When you assume the consciousness of the wise ruler, you do not seek wisdom but wake it. Your inner throne sits in the I AM, and through discernment you move through life with calm clarity, judging rightly, acting with love, and ordering perception so that all outward events reflect your inner order. The divine appearance is you, awakening to your own authority to bless and guide your life. You are Solomon whenever you rest in the knowing of your own wisdom.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In quiet, imagine the night when God asks, 'Ask what I shall give thee.' Affirm, 'I am wise now,' and answer from your heart as though you already know the right course, then feel the certainty.
