Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Solomon and the assembly go to the high place at Gibeon, where the tabernacle and altar stand, and offer a thousand burnt offerings before the LORD.
Neville's Inner Vision
This scene is a map of your awakening. The high place is the standing of your consciousness; Gibeon is the inner sanctuary you enter when you choose to see God as your I AM. The tabernacle, prepared in the wilderness, speaks of your memory of divine order within; the ark being brought forth from Kirjathjearim to Jerusalem is the rising awareness of Presence in your mind. The brazen altar stands before the LORD—your decision to burn away doubt and limitation with a thousand offerings of faith, gratitude, and unwavering attention. Solomon’s ascent to that altar mirrors your turning toward an unchanging assumption: the Presence is already there and you are the one who bows to it. The act of offering is not to appease a distant God, but to seal a state of consciousness—I am asserting the Presence as reality. When you dwell in this inner temple, you are in the temple not of stones but of your own being, where every event is movement within. The outer feast reflects inner harmony; the body quiets, and God’s Presence becomes your immediate experience.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume you are already in the Presence; mentally ascend to the altar of your awareness and offer gratitude and unwavering faith until you feel the Presence saturate your whole being.
