Wealth's Inner Dilemma

1 Timothy 6:9-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read 1 Timothy 6 in context

Scripture Focus

9But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
1 Timothy 6:9-10

Biblical Context

The passage warns that chasing wealth leads to temptation and destructive desires; love of money is the root of evil, causing some to stray from faith and suffer sorrow.

Neville's Inner Vision

All who cry, 'I must have wealth' do not confront money itself but a state of consciousness that believes wealth will complete them. The longing for riches is born of lack, an inner misalignment with the truth that God is the abundance of being. In this inner theater, temptation and 'foolish and hurtful lusts' arise as inner images, drowning you in destruction when you cling to money as security. The claim that 'the love of money is the root of all evil' points to the misplacement of power—money becoming idol, measure, God—causing sorrow through a severed relationship with the I AM. The remedy is awakening to your true self as the I AM, the aware consciousness that creates your world. When you stop seeking wealth externally and feel the presence of abundance within, you remain faithful to faith; you align with the eternal stream of supply and witness conditions soften, limitations lift, and life move with quiet security.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit in quiet, close your eyes, and repeat, 'I am the I AM wealth; I have all I need now.' Then revise any craving by affirming, 'Money is not my measure; I am abundance now,' and feel the realization graph into your body as inner assurance.
